September 13th - Paris
Tour Paris
After a wonderful breakfast in the hotel dining room, we are off to the Paris Metro.
Keith gives us a lesson in using the Metro.
Then we walked to the Ile de la Cité and to our first stop at Sainte-Chapelle.
Sainte-Chapelle
Our first stop is Saint Chapelle - the home of the "Crown of Thorns". We were free to tour at our own pace.
Notre-Dame
We had a beautiful sunny day for the tour of Notre Dame.
Latin Quarter
We were free to have lunch in the Latin Quarter. There are many places to eat, but crepes were our choice.
A Paris Quilt Shop
There is one quilt shop in Paris and we had a few minutes to find it. Of course, I don't want to buy too much, because I'll have to carry it. But I was happy to pick up a few pieces to remember my trip.
Lots to See
There is so much to see in Paris and the signs will point you in the right direction. We found several bridges covered with "Love Padlocks". We also had a brief visit to Shakespeare and Company.
Free Dinner Night
A small restaurant on a side street called "La Varangue" gets a top rating from us. We went with John and Lucille on a free dinner night. It is run by Phileppe and the food is as wonderful and he is. The restaurant is often filled with people carrying the RS tour book.
