September 10th
Hi, we are Jack and Kathy from California.
This is our 2nd Rick Steves tour.
We are changed travelers from the experience.
We've always traveled light, but now we travel smart.
We've always enjoyed planning the trip, but now we let the staff at RS do that for us and save our energy for the trip.
All we have to do now is pick when we want to go, book the flights and pack what we want to bring.
We have not been disappointed yet!
Can you ever have enough pictures of the Eiffel Tower?
We arrived a day early to adjust to Paris time.
We checked in to the hotel and went for a walk.
It started to sprinkle and then rain and then pour. But it was OK. We ducked into a doorway to wait for the rain to pass. We were shortly joined by another American couple with the same idea. We had a great visit and parted when the rain stopped.
We decided to go back to the hotel to change out of our wet clothes before we headed out to dinner. No hurry in Paris as the restaurants don't open until after 7pm. Who cares, we don't really know what time it is anyways. We're on vacation!

Hotel Duquesne Eiffel
We had a beautiful room on the 2nd floor with a view of the Eiffel Tower.
We stayed here on a previous tour so it was like home for us.
Dinner at Les Cocottes
The Rick Steves book recommends the Christian Constant restaurants and this is one of our favorites. Our dinner here after arriving was a perfect way to welcome ourselves to Paris. We love to sample the house wine.
