September 20th - Venice
Here is Ted trying to explain to the girl what he wants. The staff was great everywhere we stayed.
Walking tour of Venice
Our guide took us walking through Venice.
She knew where to go and made it look easy to find your way around.
We saw the Snail, the Rialto Bridge, and Saint Mark's Basilica.
We crowded into Ca' del Sol - a Venetian mask shop for Carnival masks. Our guide translated as the Italian mask maker created a mask for us. I doubt the average Venice tourist gets to experience this.
Free time
We had the afternoon to get lost in Venice.
We had the afternoon to eat Gelato.
The question is how do you decide which flavor?
Hazelnut - Vanilla - Cappuccino - Chocolate - Lemon - Fig Pistachio - Coconut - Raspberry - Egg Custard - Peach - Apple
Banana - Mocha - and the list goes on
We came back to the room to rest and prepare for the evening. We glanced out the window and saw Bruce and Jeannie having coffee and relaxing. It was the perfect example of the versatility of the tour. There was always a chance to sit and watch life in Venice.
Keith arranged for the group to take an evening gondola ride through the canals of Venice with champagne.
After the gondola, we went with several tour friends to Saint Mark's Square to have a spritzer and listen to the music.
